Super Lovers is a Japanese street fashion label founded in 1988 by designer and company president Yasuharu Tanaka. Inspired by Tanakas clubbing experiences while residing in London, an Idea was sparked when she noticed how the word "love" often featured in the names of underground rave parties and on the crude literature that advertised them. This elusive and ultra cool fashion label has been compared to other exclusive Japanese brands and has been referred to as “a female version of Nigo’s A Bathing Ape”. Relying on word of mouth and in keeping with the underground popularity of the brand, each season’s collection is in stores only as long as it takes for alert Superlovers aficionados to snap it up.



Comprising bright and distinctive colours, bold imagery and large prints, the range usually includes t-shirts, track tops, hooded tops and various high quality accessories/timepieces. Bold fonts and various repeated and recognised designs feature throughout and the range takes in hearts, character designs such as Ken and Merry (the Lovers House range) and the Jolly Roger design found on the Lovers Rock offshoot.



The label is geared towards young people who enjoy music and street fashion, prominently for those who attend rave parties and clubs. Tanaka quotes the style as "genderless", "ageless", and "without boundaries", hence its popularity among young Japanese people, both male and female. Western attitudes seem to put Superlovers clothing squarely in the category of female attire and a recent shout out by Superlovers fan Gwen Stefani on her album track “Harajuku Girls “ has made American ladies sit up and take notice.



We are sole UK suppliers of the Superlovers brand, and the fact that we are a stockist is one that fans have kept to themselves for the last four and a half years. This is the first time we have offered Superlovers clothing for sale on our website and to coincide with the relaunch of www.exit.uk.com and as a testament to the good relationship we have enjoyed for such a long time we are proud to do so today and in the future.

It goes without saying that Adidas as a brand need no introduction. Legendary shoes such as the Stan Smith and Superstar have been worn and appreciated by many for decades and the love for these and other Adidas models shows no sign of abating.
One interesting fact is that a dedicated Skateboarding division of this major brand has never really existed before. Now this has been addressed and re-engineered versions of existing Adidas models utilising interesting materials and colours seems to be the order of the day along with added skateboarding friendly features such as cushioning soft cells, padded sockliners and protected lacing.

Team riders at present are Mark Gonzales, Dennis Busenitz and Tim O’Connor. The first name on that list, as well as being a complete skateboarding legend, has also made a name for himself as a respected artist and this has resulted in “The Gonz’s” artwork featuring on upcoming signature footwear and clothing lines.



Recent interesting models include the Stan Smith Skate “San Francisco” designed by celebrated illustrator Evan Hecox. This striking shoe’s all over Orange and White embossed design gained it a favourable response among skaters and sneaker heads alike. Also popular is the Superstar Skate with its distinctive gum shell toe setting it apart from non-skate models.

Upcoming styles include a skate version of the ledgendary Super Skate High that can be seen being used for their intended purpose by Mr Gonzales in the pic below.
